But that is some pretty good advice, not just for women. Last week a friend of mine proved even the the most street-smart of people can never be safe from opportunistic crimes when he was mugged at knife-point even though he got a lift to his home and was only several feet away from his doorstep. It’s naive for young men to think they are any less prone to muggings. Another friend got attacked walking through an alley she’d been using over the past 2 years. So don’t presume a route safe just because nothing’s happened to you yet. There’s my 2 cents….
