A lot of people don’t know how to properly care for fish / don’t care and the pooor fish suffer unnecessarily from disease / incorrect pH / incorrect temperature / underfeeding / overfeeding and a general short life span. Also I cant imagine a creature from the amazon river or Lake Malawi would be terribly happy living in a container for the rest of its life.

I have however seen some really beautiful plant-only tanks… the plants tend to florish when there arent any fish snacking on them.
