I think there&#039;s a balance between building websites for the lowest common denominator (say, your Grandma&#039;s hamster) and attempting to progress the world of Webs by building things that are just obvious, common knowledge to those of us who care to take the time to figure things out.

For example, if we never built cars because people were too afraid of them to quit riding horses, there would be less glue in the world.
