advice and also definitely not hoity toity eiether : )
Soooo exciting – f**ken hard work but apparently extremely rewarding..

Gillian, what a brilliant idea! I had no idea couchsurfing had sailing hookups. Yes I was SO amazed when I saw you were sailing with the kids and it seems daft but I hadnt yet put it together, even seeing that, that it was something I could also afford to do if you could WITH TWO KIDS. So. I have a 4 consecutive day sailing course booked in a few weeks for starters. I might also lengthen my stay out here and see if I can volunteer while Im in Simonstown to get more hours in. Eventually it would be really fun to deliver yachts around the world (visit you!) and get paid to do it. Man there are SO many paid gigs I could do sailing… things Id actually pay to do, so this could be the start of something unstoppable.

It’s SO wonderful. And I have two children and no job and am a single mom so if I can do it you definitely can. Couchsurfing has lots of cool sailing groups where you can find boats, people to teach you to sail, people with whom to crew and lots more. Anyhow, feel free to write me if you want more info. This sounds AMAZING! Keep posting about it pleeese!
