I’ve discovered a fantastic organisation called the Landmark Trust, which rescues unusual buildings from mould, decay and certain ruin …. and rents them out as holiday homes! If you, like me, like buildings which are ancient and preferably haunted, then what could be better than enjoying a magical stay in a pineapple-shaped house or a gothic chapel? Most are in the UK, but look out for some across Europe too.
