Possibly the best post all week!!!
Its 11 megs… and by far the most amazing robot ive ever witnessed… its been developed for the us army to carry heavy equipment long distances…
It can negotiate pretty much all terrains and has amazing balance and aviodance… they even kick it as it comes past to try and topple it and it regains itself amazingly…
This is mind boggling technology
Read more about it on New Scientist.”
Thanks ken!

Speaking of great robotics and their movements, take a look at Asimo and how he has progressed here.

Wow.. looks amazing. This is a good example of how far robot technology is at the moment.. Although I think these legs still look a bit wobbly..

Awesome! I think it is better that it doesn’t look terribly human-like. It sure appears to have a lot of potential…

I suspect that the only advantage of this robot over a typical GI is that it did not falter when kicked. Although I wonder how it would do if it was actually carrying a load. The legs of the robot, with their jumpy motion, brought to mind a slightly spastic soldier. And yes, witnessing the guy kicking the robot elicited a strong reaction on me.

COOL

I agree with nineteeneighty about the look and feel of it.

Very cool. Its interesting how quickly it finds it footying and never falls over. Too bad it doesn’t have the aesthetics of the more frequently seen Japanese robots.
Nice Post

I felt bad too! I don’t knnow why.

Hah! While that is cool, I don’t know how they can say “any terrain” – I mean, they clearly haven’t tested it in fire, or even exploding ice for that matter.

Does it herd sheep?

Is it weird that I felt bad when they kicked it? It’s oddly dog like! What a cool invention. I couldn’t stop watching the clip. Thanks for posting it!
