Day 3 – Maplewood State Park, Minnesota
Blogging from the road:

The most fun night so far! We arrived at our completely secluded spot on the lake to find a turtle laying her eggs on our patch of grass! It started raining while we put our tents up so we spent the next few hours huddled up in the tent playing games we made up (favourites like ‘one in the primary hole!’) to try and distract us from our rumbling tummies and desperate yearning for a blazing hot fire. The rain stopped a bit so even though the the wind howled and the sky was heavy with incoming storm clouds we decided to defy nature and build the fiercest fire that would weather such a storm. We succeeded! An hour later we were tearing through flame seered tuna steaks like Survivor Man and roasted smores that melted smoothly into my blissfully happy face. We were toasty warm by then. After T fell asleep we chased down the dawn with an even bigger fire and a few six packs. That was the best night’s sleep I’ve had in months – nothing like a firm grass mattress to soothe a tired back!

But the fun doesn’t stop there – you can’t forget the tertiary hole, which was the hardest of all and never achieved, and trick moves apply named “rollin’ it down the wall” and “spinnin’ it around the door”
Ah the good, green times.

“FIRE in the hoooole!!!”
(echoes off into the distance)
Ms. Wakame
Actually there was! That was worth a bonus point because it was smaller and harder to get to.
Ken
was there a secondary hole? or did you get points deducted for hitting that?
Ms. Wakame
You’d think, huh. We were shooting hoops with internal tent pouches and beer bottle tops.

one in the primary hole just does not sound like the type of game you should be playing with the youngon’ around ~;)
