Ive been there, its right near where my grandparents grew up. It is a tiny place and all that is really there is a couple houses and a lot of remains of houses. You can really see the smoke rising during the winter. The people who still live there do so because it is the house that either they or their parents built and they dont want to leave it to be destroyed.

wow! I never knew that streams of coal burned from beneath….interesting.
Centralia is kind of freaky. I wouldn’t mind going there and checking it out too. I wonder why people even live there still?

That’s like some fire and brimstone vision of hell, isn’t it?

huh! I didnt even know that.
I’d love to one day visit Centralia and walk around the abandoned buildings and ruined streets. With a gas mask on of course. That would make it extra creepy (and somewhat safer).

Nanty Glo has this going on, though I don’t know to what extent in comparison to Centralia (I admittedly didn’t watch the video.)
But back home there are these huge piles of basically coal mining waste, excess rock that either has too little coal to make it worth extracting or is just extra rock in general, and underneath it’s all on fire.
Or at least it was awhile ago, who knows how long something like that goes for.
