I was with ANHosting for YEARS because of their great support, excellent bandwidth and super cheap unlimited package WITH the full cPanel. They recently got bought out by the much more expensive and well-known Midphase, so my package has been scaled down and the price has gone way up. I am really bummed about this, but will be moving over to A2Hosting as soon as my contract is over. A2Hosting, aside from the extremely similar name has an uncanny resemblance to ANHosting in their package offerings and the exact same prices, that I have to wonder if its somehow them, or an offshoot of them… I thought I’d give you guys a heads up. I’ll be moving soon. If anyone wants to leave comments here on their experiences with A2Hosting, that would be super appreciated!

Oh, and whatever you do decide to get, of wherever you go for hosting, be sure to get cPanel in your package, and not some fancy looking admin system that will completely limit your developer.

I used to pay $15 – $30 a year every year per domain. It never occurred to me to look around. Register your domains from $3.99 a year including under $2 WhoisGuard Privacy Protection with my favourite and only registrar NameCheap and help the fight against CISPA – Protect your internet freedom! Namecheap donates to EFF.org and the fight against CISPA. Please raise awareness!

LunarPages vs AN Hosting (MidPhase)

After loads of research over the weekend to find the perfect host, I finally moved my site today. What started off as a honeymoon romance a few years ago with LunarPages quickly soured over the last year as their tech support is now virtually non-existent and my site has frequent outages.

After careful and thorough research I finally decided on AN Hosting as my new host. They are a division of the more famous MidPhase, but they offer outstanding value for money. For less than half the price of LunarPages package I get loads more disk space, more bandwidth, my site loads faster, 24-hour tech support that really supports (I thoroughly tested this overnight during the move), and trusty cPanel.
