{"id":1983,"date":"2004-11-22T11:22:49","date_gmt":"2004-11-22T15:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yummy-wakame.com\/archives\/2004\/11\/22\/\/"},"modified":"2004-11-22T11:22:49","modified_gmt":"2004-11-22T15:22:49","slug":"1983","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yummy-wakame.com\/weblog\/2004\/11\/1983\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Movie Review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/mr-incredible.jpg\" alt=\"Mr Incredible\" class=\"oldblogthumb\" \/>We went to see six films this weekend: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bridgetjonesmovie.com\/\" rel=\"external\">Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason<\/a> (eugh. had its moments.), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.afterthesunset.com\/\" rel=\"external\">After the Sunset<\/a> (entertainment that&#8217;s easy to forget, though Salma Hayek has never looked hotter.), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timeout.com\/film\/review.php?id=81530&amp;redirect=true\" rel=\"external\">Ladies in Lavender<\/a> (surprisingly good!), <a href=\"http:\/\/disney.go.com\/disneypictures\/incredibles\/index.html\" rel=\"external\">The Incredibles<\/a> (fantastic and clever &#8211; check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/disney\/the_incredibles\/\" rel=\"external\">trailer<\/a>) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paramountclassics.com\/enduringlove\/index2.html\" rel=\"external\">Enduring Love<\/a> (heavy going and thought provoking thriller &#8211; check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/paramount_classics\/enduring_love.html\" rel=\"external\">trailer<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Standing head and shoulders over the rest for us was undoubtedly:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theedukators.com\/\" rel=\"external\"><strong>The Educators<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; official selection Cannes 2004<br \/><strong>(Die Fetten Jahre sind vorbei)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The story begins with a wealthy family returning from holiday to their luxurious lifestyle. When they enter their villa they are shocked to find a pile of their expensive furniture stacked up to the ceiling. Their precious ornaments in the toilet, carrots on the diningroom table, family photos in the fridge, everything has been creatively rearranged and placed where you&#8217;d least expect it. Someone has left a note for them: &#8220;Your days of plenty are numbered.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/the-edukators.jpg\" alt=\"Jan and Jule\" class=\"oldblogthumb\" \/>The story follows three unseparably close friends, through kidnapping, love and betrayal and tests their fundamental ideals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Edukators is a deft and amusing look at the youngsters&#8217; attempts to live by their own version of 60s radical politics, even when this is hard to square with their more individualist impulses.&#8221; <em>~ <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lff.org.uk\/films_details.php?FilmID=447\" rel=\"external\">LFF Films<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I loved this movie and give it 4&#038;#189 stars! If it was worth any less, I wouldn&#8217;t have bothered to blog it.
