You know how I&#8217;m always going on and on about how I&#8217;d love to do a pilgrimage and walk across a country? Well Quiddity and I will be doing one across England. It was all her idea to do it and then I got so excited about the idea I sort of invited myself, I think&#8230; haha! Anyway we&#8217;ll be walking from the one end to the other in one week. Not from North to South silly! That would be madness. No, we&#8217;re walking from the west coast to the east coast, following Hadrian&#8217;s Wall. I&#8217;ll be catching a train to Carlisle on Friday the 15th of July and will be returning with rosy cheeks, sweaty feet and a lovely farmers tan on Thursday the 21st.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hadrians-wall.org\/template.asp?ID=0&#038;parentID=517\" rel=\"external\">This is what the route looks like<\/a>. It even goes through a place called Northumberland, the place where Thumbelina was born!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/weblog\/hadrians-wall.jpg\" alt=\"Hadrian's Wall\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hadrians-wall.org\/template.asp\" rel=\"external\">Hadrian&#8217;s wall<\/a> is a 2000 year old fortified wall built by the Romans and there are lovely castles and forts to see along the way.<br \/>\nWe&#8217;ll be staying in youth hostels and will probably eat all our snacks on the train trip to Carlisle.<\/p>\n<p>Ooh and I nearly forgot to mention, this is all happening slap bang in the middle of my <a href=\"\/weblog\/2005\/05\/16\/saturn-returns\/\">Saturn Return<\/a> event.
