They&#8217;re so nifty and this is the one thing that Internet Explorer does better than Firefox, right?<\/p>\n<p>For those of us who dig on having nifty sayings or hidden jokes behind our images, you&#8217;re in luck. The &#8220;alt tag&#8221; as it&#8217;s called (it&#8217;s actually technically called the &#8220;alt attribute&#8221; as a tag is the main element, such as <code>p<\/code> or in this case, <code>img<\/code>) is not defined as being the attribute to produce this little popup text. The actual attribute is <code>title<\/code>. So where Internet Explorer interprets either as resulting in popup text, Firefox follows the rules and only does so with the latter. Not saying that it&#8217;s necessarily evil of IE to do so, just stating some facts.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you&#8217;d like your images to popup text, try this:<\/p>\n<p><code>&lt;img src=\"filename.jpg\" alt=\"accurately describe the image here\" title=\"put in your funny saying or witty repartee in this spot\" \/&gt;<br \/>\n<\/code><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Firefox is great, but where have all the little popups that show up when you hover over an image gone?
