Sharp Corp. have unveiled <a href=\"http:\/\/cooltech.iafrica.com\/technews\/178311.htm\" rel=\"external\">a prototype pc that runs on a tiny piece of glass<\/a> &#8211; a revolutionary step forward in creating ultra-flat &#8216;sheet computers&#8217; and &#8216;sheet TVs&#8217;. This technique will allow other devices like LCDs, their drivers and power supplies to be integrated with the same plate of glass, embedded in a silicon membrane, something considered impossible until now.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/sheet-computer.jpg\" alt=\"You can see through it!\" class=\"oldblogthumb\" \/>The prototype is a functioning tiny circuit board from a Sharp CPU originally made in 1977 &#8211; imprinted on a piece of glass 15mm square and 1mm thick, with a computing power of 8 bits and a speed of 2.5 megahertz, and is based on CG silicon technology.
