Liquid Breathing

Since watching people breath liquid in the Abyss, Ive been fascinated by breathable liquid perfluorocarbons, or PFC’s for short. Pioneered in 1965 and first tested on a human in 1989, this wonder liquid may be used for all kinds of special treatments in the future. Imagine smokers and people with lung disease can have their lungs cleaned; premature infants and those with lungs damaged by lung machines can use this gentle liquid to breathe; withstanding pressure when deep-sea diving and high-g travel, including space travel. These are all possibilities.

I found some archived medical information on the subject (1996 – 2000).
