Every day we go on about support for brave US and UK troops… lucky enough to be on the winning side from the beginning. Men and women who have chosen to bravely go and invade Iraq and blow it up with their massive weapons.
What about Iraqi soldiers who have no choice, forced by conscription to fight to their deaths or be killed by the regime? What about their families who know their husbands, fathers and sons are either going to be murdered or become POWs. Children who will most likely never see their fathers again. Ordinary men and boys from the age of 15 to 45, many of whom are terrified and unwilling to fight, waiting to be slaughtered one by one by brave American and British soldiers, until Bush and Saddam have satisfied their blood lust. It saddens me so much to see the frightened Iraqi POWs lined up, ragged clothes with no shoes on and blistered feet. Nobody supports them. Nobody cares what will happen to them.
There is no bravery or glory in beating-up something half your size. It would seem Bush’s mother was more concerned with teaching her son to chew his pretzels properly, and even in that she failed.
