A few months ago there was an amazing story on TV about the meeting and process of healing that Jo Tuffnell had to go through with the IRA man who killed her father in the 1984 ‘Brighton Bomb’, Patrick Magee.
“I knew that I had a choice in the days after the bomb: to stay as a victim, blaming others for my pain, or to go on a journey in search of healing and understanding. I made an inner commitment to the journey with no idea what that meant, but I knew that life would give me the experiences I needed to learn from.”
Tomorrow morning BBC Radio 2 will broadcast a conversation between the two of them. The 45 minute conversation will be part of Don Maclean’s ‘Good Morning Sunday’ programme between 7am-9am, with Jo and Pat’s contribution probably starting around 8am. The conversation can also be listened to on the Radio 2 website through next week. (Click on ‘Listen Again’)
