East London – South Africa
Dagga muffins sold at school’s request

A 23-year-old woman was arrested in East London on Friday when she was found selling dagga-laced muffins to school children and staff, police said. Captain Mtati Tana said the woman had set up a stall outside the school in Terminus Street in the city centre and was doing a brisk trade when a constable on routine patrol arrived and arrested her.

Tana said the woman told police she had been selling the muffins at the request of the school children and staff for some time.
She was being detained at the Fleet Street police station and would appear in court on Monday in connection with a charge.
