The South African Rand has broken below 6/US$ today
It currently stands at $5.94

The last time it broke the R6 mark was in October 1999. Financial analysts said earlier today that the next technical support level on dollar-rand was at 5.95 (which has already broken) and that a break below this would see the rand target 5.80.
