ONE blood parrot fish can cost as little as $8. But Gary Kwan hopes to sell a pair of them for $8,888.

That’s because his blood parrots, normally freshwater fish, live in salt water. His blood parrots can be put in more beautiful saltwater aquariums, complete with sea corals. Mr Gary Kwan claims he has found a way to turn the freshwater blood parrot cichlids into saltwater fish, and that his two blood parrots, each a few centimetres long and less than a year old, have survived four months in the marine tank.
