It’s official!!!
I’m going on a Great Adventure with Quiddity!
The train tickets have arrived and the dates are set. You know how I’m always going on and on about how I’d love to do a pilgrimage and walk across a country? Well Quiddity and I will be doing one across England. It was all her idea to do it and then I got so excited about the idea I sort of invited myself, I think… haha! Anyway we’ll be walking from the one end to the other in one week. Not from North to South silly! That would be madness. No, we’re walking from the west coast to the east coast, following Hadrian’s Wall. I’ll be catching a train to Carlisle on Friday the 15th of July and will be returning with rosy cheeks, sweaty feet and a lovely farmers tan on Thursday the 21st.
This is what the route looks like. It even goes through a place called Northumberland, the place where Thumbelina was born!

Hadrian’s wall is a 2000 year old fortified wall built by the Romans and there are lovely castles and forts to see along the way.
We’ll be staying in youth hostels and will probably eat all our snacks on the train trip to Carlisle.
Ooh and I nearly forgot to mention, this is all happening slap bang in the middle of my Saturn Return event. Luckily Quiddity is a brave woman who can handle anything.

It’s about 84 miles/135 km.
I can’t wait to go. My toes are wriggling eagerly in my shoes.

Maybe you’ll walk off the Saturn crazies. Do you know exactly how many miles the trip is? I don’t think this would be possible in the US unless a person walked on the side of public roads or hiked in a national park. Most of the land in the US is privately owned, and tresspassing would be punished.
