Konfabulator is now free!
Version 2.1 won’t send you registration reminders because it’s free. There’s no catch. No spyware, no ads, nothing sending your information to them. This has all happened since Yahoo! aquired Konfabulator. Did you know Yahoo! also aquired Flickr? Well they did, and what a good all round job they did there.
If you take a peek at my desktop the widgets floating on it are: a Flickr photo frame, a Flickr quick file upload utility, weather in Erie PA, multi time-zone display, event countdown timer, a thingy so I can chat directly to A.L.I.C.E Bot from my desktop without having to look at her ugly face, quick currency converter, Mahjong and a cute little ladybug that crawls all over and under my pages. Where would I be without them? There are thousands of widgets to choose from and new ones are being added daily.
If you haven’t already tried Konfabulator, and you’re the sort of person who likes to soup up their desktop, this is the ultimate mod!

i got this strange email today from someone who we will call Jeff. Jeff was trying to tell me why windoze is so much COOLER than Linux, because they have widgets. “pfffttt…” i said. Linux has had widgets for so long now. and being that you didn’t need much more than a little GTK+ knowledge to run widgets and that they have always been free for the downloading of. and if you knew how to code then hey you could just make your own. so how does this make windoze cooler than Linux? man this dude Jeff was soooo wrong.
shame on Jeff for pointing out the fact that you once had to buy something that you could alway do on linux for free.
