We’re resting up at the fabulous 1* Days Inn featuring free wifi! WOOHOO! Best news of all is this moblog thing works. im actually blogging from my almost featureless pay-as-you go phone… its a miracle! More posts to come.

Oh yep! Well he’s joining us for the whole trip down and spending a few days in Portland with us, then his gran is flying over to collect him.
We’re having such a great time so far! Today my phone has been completely unable to get reception so I havent been able to moblog, but we are staying in a cabin tonight with very distant wifi so I’m in my element. We were going to set up a tent in the rain… but I chickened out. Man that would have sucked. I’m holding out for great weather tomorrow.
Last night we camped on the edge of a lake and cooked salmon kebabs for supper. It was freezing cold outside but we made a HUGE fire that sizzled us nicely through the night.
Tonight we have a cabin on the lake. We just had some sundowners on the beach. It was so surreal… walking out of the thick of the forest onto the beach, it looked exactly like we were stranded on a desert island after a ship wreck. The clouds all thick and moody… fog covered mountains in the distance, creamy beach sand and thick forest behind us. Its amazing to think we nearly missed out on this experience, though Im sure the camp site would have been amazing too.
Tomorrow we break into the central time zone. I can’t wait till I can moblog again!
