SOLVED: Problems mounting ISO files / virtual disk images on Windows 7 64-bit?
Yeah, this has been a real hassle for me for days now. Messages like “This driver has been blocked from loading,”. Or when you try to assign a drive letter it just fails to do anything.
So that you don’t waste your time, I have tried the following programs with no luck:
Alcohol 120{a9f0d31f6175b3e4775e11a66c07db268fb74408d6095f6b46eeec420c0e9f62}, DaemonLite Free, MagicISO Maker, Virtual CloneDrive, WinXP VirtualCD.
A quick Google search shows that tons of people are having this same problem. This is because you can’t use 32-bit drivers on a 64-bit platform. Ohhhhhh… riiiiight.
Solution!
UltraISO. The version I’m using is 9.3.6.2750 and it does its job PERFECTLY. The free version will only let you load so much, so pay for the full version or find a way around it.

Except one thing, the Program Files (x86) folder is literally a folder designed to have x32 programs put in it, that is why there is a normal Program Files in there too, if you get a x32 operating system which just so happens to also be x86 then there is no such folder, becasue it is not necessary.

Thanks alot. works perfectly. wasn’t working on winiso, virtualsheep and deamon probably because it wasnt the 64 bit version. ultraiso 64 bit works perfectly

Yay I’m so glad! I love when that happens. I was so relieved when I found the solution I just had to post it.

so far I’ve tried ultraiso, magiciso, daemon tools, the windows built in tool and NOTHING works for a set of .iso files, .. argh any other ideas folks, the files say unsupported format or corrupt yet they are there maybe I should be looking at encryption problems…
